Will Smith became the first Dodger to hit an extra-inning World Series Game 7 home run.
His historic blast came in the 11th inning of the 2025 World Series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays. Smith's solo homer gave Los Angeles a 5–4 lead, and the Dodgers held on to win the game and the championship. It was the first extra-inning home run in a winner-take-all game in World Series history.
The moment followed another unusual Game 7 event. Miguel Rojas had tied the game with a ninth-inning home run, becoming the first player to hit a tying homer in the ninth inning of a World Series Game 7. Smith's later shot supplied the decisive swing.
The answer is sometimes confused with Freddie Freeman or Max Muncy because both were major Dodgers postseason hitters. However, neither hit this record-setting Game 7 homer. Smith, the Dodgers' catcher, delivered the championship-winning blow.
