The underwater town is the setting for Part 1 of the game’s paid Expansion Pass. It became available on August 5, 2026, alongside additional Pokémon and furniture for players to discover and use.
Underwater exploration depends on the new Dive move, which was included in a free update rather than being locked entirely inside the paid expansion. This distinction matters because players received a gameplay feature through the update while the new town and its extra content belonged to the Expansion Pass.
The later planned parts of the pass have different scopes. Part 2 adds accessories, Pokémon, and furniture but no new town, while Part 3 is scheduled for 2027 and will introduce another town. Bubbly Basin is therefore specifically the first underwater destination.
