Which dinosaur kills Dennis Nedry in Jurassic Park?
Answer
Dilophosaurus
Answer
Dilophosaurus
The Dilophosaurus kills Dennis Nedry in Jurassic Park. After Nedry crashes his Jeep while trying to leave Isla Nublar with stolen embryos, the dinosaur attacks him during a rainstorm.
In the film, the Dilophosaurus first appears harmless and curious. It then spits venom into Nedry’s face, blinding and disorienting him. As he retreats into the Jeep, the animal attacks again, and the scene ends with Nedry’s screams. His remains are not shown in the original film.
The movie’s Dilophosaurus is a heavily fictionalized version of the real dinosaur. Jurassic Park gives it a retractable neck frill and venom-spitting ability, neither of which is established by paleontological evidence. The production also made the film creature much smaller than the animal generally portrayed by fossil evidence.
Nedry’s death is often confused with attacks by the film’s Velociraptors or Tyrannosaurus rex. Those dinosaurs threaten other characters, but the Dilophosaurus is specifically responsible for Nedry’s fate.
