Which development studio created the original Assassin's Creed game?
Answer
Ubisoft Montreal
Answer
Ubisoft Montreal
Ubisoft Montreal created the original Assassin's Creed game.
Ubisoft Montreal led development of the first Assassin's Creed, which Ubisoft released in 2007. The studio designed the game's open-world cities, parkour movement, social-stealth systems, and historical adventure structure. Patrice Désilets served as creative director, while Jade Raymond was the producer.
The project grew from ideas associated with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The finished game changed direction and became a new intellectual property centered on the Assassin-Templar conflict and the Animus. Its historical story follows Altaïr during the Third Crusade, while its modern sections follow Desmond Miles.
Ubisoft Quebec later led development of Assassin's Creed Syndicate and Assassin's Creed Odyssey, while Ubisoft Sofia developed Assassin's Creed Rogue. Ubisoft Toronto has also contributed to franchise projects, but it was not the lead studio for the original game. Large entries often credit several Ubisoft studios, so “created” here refers to the principal development studio.
