Which designer presented the 2010 Plato’s Atlantis collection at Paris Fashion Week?
Answer
Alexander McQueen
Answer
Alexander McQueen
Alexander McQueen presented the 2010 Plato’s Atlantis collection at Paris Fashion Week.
The collection was shown in October 2009 for the spring/summer 2010 season, although it is often described as the 2010 collection. It was McQueen’s final collection presented during his lifetime and became one of his most influential runway productions.
Plato’s Atlantis explored evolution, climate change and the relationship between humans and the natural world. The show used dramatic digital presentation, sculptural garments and distinctive Armadillo shoes. It also included an early high-profile fashion livestream.
The title refers to the lost island described in Plato’s writings. The collection is sometimes misdated because fashion shows are identified both by their presentation season and by the year of the clothes’ retail season.
