Which designer founded São Paulo Fashion Week in 1996?
Answer
Paulo Borges
Answer
Paulo Borges
Paulo Borges founded São Paulo Fashion Week in 1996.
Borges created the event as Morumbi Fashion, helping establish São Paulo as Brazil’s principal fashion-show city. The event later adopted the name São Paulo Fashion Week, commonly abbreviated SPFW.
Its schedule became an important platform for Brazilian designers, models and fashion businesses. Unlike a single-brand runway presentation, SPFW brings together many labels in one organized calendar.
A common mix-up is confusing SPFW with Fashion Rio, another major Brazilian fashion event that was held in Rio de Janeiro. São Paulo Fashion Week is associated with São Paulo and developed under Borges’s direction.
