Which date saw the 2026–27 Premier League opening matchweek conclude?

The 2026–27 Premier League opening matchweek concluded on 24 August 2026.

The final fixture was Fulham versus Chelsea, played on Monday evening at Craven Cottage. This meant the first match round stretched across four calendar days, from Friday through Monday.

Chelsea won the west London meeting 3–2. Because it was the last match to be played, the result completed the opening-weekend table and confirmed the initial positions of all 20 clubs.

The spread of fixtures reflected modern Premier League scheduling. Matches are commonly placed on different days to accommodate television coverage, European commitments, stadium logistics and travel considerations.
