Which current Guns N' Roses keyboardist joined the band in March 2016?

The story behind the answer

Melissa Reese is the Guns N' Roses keyboardist who joined the band in March 2016. She came aboard as the group prepared for its reunion-era Not in This Lifetime... Tour, replacing Chris Pitman as the second keyboardist alongside Dizzy Reed.

Reese was recommended to Guns N' Roses through her work with drummer Bryan “Brain” Mantia, a longtime associate of the band. She had collaborated with Mantia on music before joining the group, and her role expanded beyond keyboards to include synthesizers, programming, percussion, sub-bass, and backing vocals.

Her first Guns N' Roses performance came at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on April 1, 2016, shortly after she was recruited. That timing can cause confusion: March refers to her joining and preparation, while April marks her first public appearance with the band.

Dizzy Reed is the common mix-up because he has been Guns N' Roses' longtime keyboardist since 1990. Reese did not replace Reed; she became an additional keyboardist, helping reproduce the layered studio textures of songs from the band's later period.
