Which C.S. Lewis work was published under the pen name Clive Hamilton?

The story behind the answer

Spirits in Bondage was published under the pen name Clive Hamilton.

Spirits in Bondage: A Cycle of Lyrics was C.S. Lewis’s first published book. It appeared in 1919, when Lewis was about twenty years old, under the name Clive Hamilton. The collection consists of poems written in a period shaped by Lewis’s education, developing literary interests, and experience of the First World War.

The pseudonym combined Lewis’s given name with “Hamilton,” his mother’s maiden name. He later used another name, Lewis Carroll-inspired “C.S. Lewis” being his public author name, while the 1926 narrative poem Dymer appeared under the name Clive Hamilton as well. Readers may confuse this collection with The Pilgrim’s Regress, Lewis’s first published prose allegory, which appeared in 1933.
