Which C.S. Lewis novel introduces the fictional land of Narnia?

The story behind the answer

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe introduces the fictional land of Narnia in C.S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia. Published in 1950, it follows four siblings who enter Narnia through a wardrobe and become involved in its struggle against the White Witch.

The novel features Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie, along with the lion Aslan. Although it is the first Narnia book Lewis published, later reading orders sometimes place The Magician’s Nephew first because that novel tells the story of Narnia’s creation.

The title is also sometimes shortened incorrectly to “The Lion and the Wardrobe.” The full title includes the Witch, whose rule produces Narnia’s famous “always winter and never Christmas” condition. The book established many of the setting’s best-known characters and symbols.
