Which C.S. Lewis novel features the protagonists Ransom, Weston, and Devine?

Out of the Silent Planet features the protagonists and antagonists Ransom, Weston, and Devine.

Published in 1938, Out of the Silent Planet is the first novel in C.S. Lewis’s Space Trilogy. Its main character is Elwin Ransom, a philologist who is kidnapped and taken to Mars, known in the novel as Malacandra. Weston and Devine are the men responsible for transporting him there.

The novel contrasts human colonial ambition with the civilizations and moral order Ransom encounters on Malacandra. Lewis combines science fiction, linguistic invention, theology, and philosophical speculation rather than writing a conventional space adventure.

The next books in the trilogy are Perelandra and That Hideous Strength. Ransom remains central to the trilogy, but the settings and narrative emphasis change. The Dark Tower is an unfinished Lewis work, while The Last Battle belongs to Narnia.
