Which C.S. Lewis fantasy series contains seven books set partly in Narnia?

The story behind the answer

The Chronicles of Narnia is C.S. Lewis’s seven-book fantasy series set partly in the land of Narnia.

The series begins with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, published in 1950, and concludes with The Last Battle, published in 1956. Its stories include talking animals, magical objects, different worlds, and recurring themes of courage, sacrifice, temptation, and renewal.

The books were not published in the same order as the internal chronology later used by many editions. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was the first Narnia book published, while The Magician’s Nephew is set earliest in the fictional history.

Aslan, the great lion, is the central recurring figure. Lewis described Narnia as a world in which familiar moral and spiritual themes could be explored through imaginative storytelling rather than direct theological argument.
