Which C.S. Lewis book tells the story of four siblings who visit Narnia?

The story behind the answer

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe tells the story of four siblings who visit Narnia.

Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie are sent away from London during the Second World War and stay in a country house. Lucy discovers a passage through a wardrobe, and her siblings eventually follow her into Narnia. Their arrival draws them into a struggle involving Aslan and the White Witch.

The novel’s wartime setting reflects the experiences of children evacuated from cities during the Blitz, although the Narnian adventure is not a direct historical account. The four siblings also appear together in Prince Caspian, but the wardrobe discovery belongs specifically to this book.

The title is sometimes confused with The Magician’s Nephew, which explains Narnia’s origins and the wardrobe’s connection to that world. The two novels are linked, but they focus on different children and events.
