Which craft business did Dragon's Den investor Sara Davies found in 2005?
Answer
Crafter's Companion
Answer
Crafter's Companion
Dragon's Den investor Sara Davies founded Crafter's Companion in 2005.
Davies started the company while studying at the University of York. Her first product was the Enveloper, a tool designed to help crafters make envelopes for handmade cards. She developed the idea after seeing a similar product in the United States and identifying demand in the British craft market.
Crafter's Companion grew from a student venture into an international craft-supplies business. Its range expanded to include papercraft tools, stationery, fabrics and other creative products. Davies later became widely known to television audiences after joining Dragon's Den.
A common mix-up is confusing Crafter's Companion with Hobbycraft, a separate British craft retailer. Davies founded and led Crafter's Companion; she did not found Hobbycraft.
