Which country’s border with China includes the summit of Mount Everest? Nepal is the correct answer.
Mount Everest lies directly on the international boundary between Nepal and China. The summit marks part of the China–Nepal border, with Nepal to the south and China’s Tibet Autonomous Region to the north.
Everest is located in the Mahalangur Himal sub-range of the Himalayas. Its southern climbing route begins in Nepal’s Solukhumbu District, while the northern route approaches the mountain from Tibet.
The mountain is known as Sagarmatha in Nepal and Qomolangma in Tibet. A joint Nepalese–Chinese survey conducted in 2020 established its official elevation as 8,848.86 metres above sea level.
