Answer
Ireland
Which country's 2022 census reported 5,149,139 people? Ireland. The Republic of Ireland's 2022 census, organized by the Central Statistics Office, recorded a population of 5,149,139.
The census was held on 3 April 2022 after the planned 2021 census was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the first Irish census to record more than five million people since 1851, a milestone reflecting population growth through both natural increase and immigration.
The total represented an 8.1% increase from the 2016 census. Dublin remained the largest population centre, while Leinster was the most populous province. The census also gathered information on age, household structure, ethnicity, religion, language, housing, commuting, and work patterns.
People sometimes confuse the Republic of Ireland with the island of Ireland as a whole. This census covered the state, not Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom and conducts its own census. Later population estimates should also not be substituted for the 2022 census count.
