Which country's 2020 census recorded 126,014,024 people?
Answer
Mexico
Answer
Mexico
Mexico’s 2020 census recorded 126,014,024 people.
Known officially as the Censo de Población y Vivienda 2020, the enumeration was conducted by Mexico’s national statistics agency, INEGI, from 2 to 27 March 2020. It was Mexico’s fourteenth national population census and measured both residents and housing across the country’s 32 federal entities, including Mexico City.
The total represented a 1.2% average annual population increase since the 2010 census, when Mexico counted 112,336,538 people. Women made up about 51.2% of the 2020 population, while men accounted for about 48.8%. Mexico City itself had roughly 9.2 million residents, but the metropolitan area of the Valley of Mexico was much larger, at about 21.8 million. A common mix-up is confusing the national census total with a later population estimate, which can differ because estimates account for births, deaths, and migration after the census date.
