Which country won the gold medal in men's ice hockey at the 2014 Winter Olympics?

The story behind the answer

Canada won the gold medal in men's ice hockey at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Canada defeated Sweden 3–0 in the gold-medal game at the Bolshoy Ice Dome on February 23, 2014.

The Canadian team was built around NHL stars including Sidney Crosby, Jonathan Toews, Drew Doughty, Shea Weber and goaltender Carey Price. Jonathan Toews opened the scoring, while Sidney Crosby and Chris Kunitz also scored. Price made 24 saves for the shutout, giving Canada a controlled victory rather than the dramatic overtime finish seen in the 2010 final.

The win gave Canada consecutive men's Olympic hockey titles after its gold medal at Vancouver 2010. It was also the first time a men's team had successfully defended Olympic hockey gold since the Soviet Union won in 1984 and 1988. Canada went undefeated through the tournament and became the first men's team since 1984 to complete an Olympic competition without a loss.
