Answer
The Netherlands
Answer
The Netherlands
The Netherlands won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1975 with Teach-In’s “Ding-a-dong.”
The 1975 contest took place in Stockholm, Sweden, after Sweden’s ABBA had won the previous year with “Waterloo.” Teach-In represented the Netherlands and performed the song in English, although its title uses a stylized phrase rather than a conventional Dutch expression.
“Ding-a-dong” finished first with 152 points. The song was written by Dick Bakker, Will Luikinga and Eddy Ouwens, with lyrics by Will Luikinga and Eddy Ouwens. Its upbeat melody and repeated refrain helped it become one of the contest’s best-known entries from the 1970s.
The Dutch victory was the country’s fourth Eurovision win at the time. It is sometimes confused with the Netherlands’ later victory in 2019, achieved by Duncan Laurence with “Arcade.”
