Which country is Doug Forcett from?

Doug Forcett is from Canada.

The character is specifically associated with Calgary, Alberta, where Michael and Janet travel to find him in the season-three episode “Don’t Let the Good Life Pass You By.” Doug became famous in the afterlife because, during a psychedelic experience in 1972, he guessed the workings of the afterlife with extraordinary accuracy.

Michael initially treats Doug as a model for moral behavior. Doug has spent decades trying to earn enough points to reach the Good Place, carefully avoiding actions he believes could cost him points. He donates, helps animals, and follows an extremely restrictive lifestyle, but his motives and the complicated consequences of modern actions make his score far less successful than Michael expects.

Doug is sometimes confused with other characters named Doug, including Donkey Doug, Jason Mendoza’s father, and Doug Shellstrop, Eleanor’s father. They are separate characters. Doug Forcett is the Canadian who predicted the afterlife, and he is played as an older man by Michael McKean, with Noah Garfinkel portraying the younger version.
