Which country hosts the British Grand Prix?
Answer
United Kingdom
Answer
United Kingdom
The British Grand Prix is hosted by the United Kingdom.
The event’s modern home is the Silverstone Circuit in England, one of Formula 1’s most historic venues. Silverstone staged the first official Formula One World Championship race in 1950, making the British Grand Prix part of the championship’s story from its very beginning. The circuit was built on a former Royal Air Force airfield and is known for fast, sweeping corners such as Copse, Maggotts, Becketts, and Chapel.
Although the race takes place in England, England is not a sovereign country separate from the United Kingdom. For a country-level quiz answer, “United Kingdom” is therefore the appropriate choice. The event is sometimes casually described as being held in Britain or England, but those labels are less precise for this question.
The British Grand Prix has also been held at other British circuits, including Brands Hatch and Aintree. Silverstone has nevertheless become its best-known and most enduring venue.
