Which continent has the largest land area?
Answer
Asia
Answer
Asia
Asia has the largest land area of any continent.
Asia covers about 44.6 million square kilometres, or roughly 30 percent of Earth’s total land area. It occupies the eastern part of the Eurasian landmass and is conventionally separated from Europe by boundaries including the Ural Mountains, the Ural River, the Caspian Sea, and the Caucasus region.
The continent contains extraordinary geographic variety. It includes the world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest; one of its lowest exposed land areas, the shore of the Dead Sea; vast Siberian forests; the Arabian Desert; and the monsoon regions of South and Southeast Asia.
Asia is also the most populous continent. China and India, both in Asia, are among the world’s largest countries by population. Continental boundaries are partly conventional, so some geographic models treat Europe and Asia as one continent, Eurasia. Under the common seven-continent model, Asia is the largest.
