Which console is Mario Party 9 for?
Answer
Wii
Answer
Wii
Mario Party 9 is for the Wii console.
Released in 2012, Mario Party 9 was developed by NDcube and published by Nintendo for the Wii. It was the ninth mainline Mario Party game and followed Mario Party DS, making it a home-console return for the series after the Nintendo DS installment.
Mario Party 9 changed the traditional format by placing all players together in a vehicle that moves around each board. Instead of independently travelling around a map, players collected Mini Stars while sharing the route and facing board events. The game included more than 80 minigames, seven boards and boss battles that concluded board sections.
The Wii connection is easy to confuse with the Wii U because the latter also hosted several Nintendo re-releases. However, Mario Party 9 was an original Wii game, not a Wii U title. It was also the first mainline entry not developed by Hudson Soft. Hudson Soft had been dissolved after its acquisition by Konami, so NDcube took over the series’ development.
