Which concept car was planned to be Lamborghini's first hybrid model?

The story behind the answer

The Asterion was planned to be Lamborghini’s first hybrid model.

Unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the Asterion LPI 910-4 was a plug-in hybrid concept designed as a more comfortable grand tourer than Lamborghini’s usual extreme supercars. Its name came from Asterion, a Minotaur in Greek mythology, continuing Lamborghini’s long tradition of bull-related names.

The concept combined a mid-mounted 5.2-liter V10, related to the Huracán’s engine, with three electric motors. Two motors powered the front wheels, while the petrol engine drove the rear wheels, creating an all-wheel-drive system. Lamborghini quoted a combined output of about 910 horsepower and an electric-only driving mode.

Asterion was a technology demonstrator rather than a production commitment. Lamborghini ultimately shelved it, while the Urus SUV received priority. The company later introduced hybrid technology in production models, but that does not change the Asterion’s status as the planned first hybrid Lamborghini.
