Which composer wrote the soundtrack for Assassin's Creed II?

Jesper Kyd wrote the soundtrack for Assassin's Creed II.

Kyd's score combines orchestral writing with choral and electronic textures, helping distinguish Renaissance Italy from the game's modern-day storyline. The soundtrack was released commercially as Assassin's Creed II: Original Game Soundtrack and became particularly associated with the game's exploration and dramatic sequences.

Lorne Balfe later composed or co-composed music for several other Assassin's Creed projects, which can cause confusion when the franchise's soundtracks are discussed together. Sarah Schachner is strongly associated with Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Valhalla, while Austin Wintory composed music for Assassin's Creed Syndicate's additional content. Kyd also contributed to the original Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed: Revelations, but Assassin's Creed II is the major series entry identified with his Renaissance-era score.
