Jesper Kyd composed the original musical score for Assassin's Creed II.
Kyd's score helped define the atmosphere of the game's Renaissance Italian setting. It combines orchestral writing, choral textures, electronic elements, and period-inspired colors to support exploration, stealth, combat, and major story scenes.
Assassin's Creed II was released in 2009 and follows Ezio Auditore across Florence, Venice, Tuscany, and other locations. The music is closely associated with the game's historical drama and with Ezio's growth from a young nobleman into an Assassin.
Later Assassin's Creed games used different composers or composer teams, which can cause confusion. Lorne Balfe contributed to Assassin's Creed III, while Sarah Schachner worked on Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Jesper Kyd also composed music for other major games, including Hitman, but his Assassin's Creed II work is the subject of this question.
