Which company was founded by Dragon Sara Davies before she joined Dragons' Den?

Sara Davies founded Crafter's Companion before joining Dragons' Den.

Davies started Crafter's Companion in 2005 while she was a student at the University of York. The business initially developed and sold a tool designed to help crafters make envelopes, then expanded into a wider range of papercraft, stationery and craft products.

Her early success came from identifying a practical problem among crafters and developing products for a specialist market. Crafter's Companion later became an international craft brand with retail, online and television-shopping activities.

Davies joined the BBC programme as a Dragon in 2019. She is therefore both an investor on the show and the founder of a company that grew from an entrepreneurial product idea. Crafter's Companion should not be confused with Hobbycraft, a separate UK craft retailer.
