BBC Dragon's Den investor Nick Jenkins founded Moonpig, the personalised greeting-card company.
Jenkins established Moonpig in 2000 after identifying an opportunity to let customers create personalised cards online. Customers could choose designs, add names or photographs, and arrange delivery, helping the company stand out from conventional card shops.
Moonpig became one of the most recognisable British online greeting-card brands. Its name was inspired by a nickname used by Jenkins, and the company later expanded beyond its original card business into personalised gifts and flowers.
Jenkins joined the BBC's Dragon's Den panel in 2015. Viewers sometimes associate him mainly with his investments on the programme, but Moonpig was the business he founded before becoming a Dragon. The company later became publicly listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2021.
