LVMH owns the luxury brand Tiffany & Co. and is headquartered in Paris.
LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE is the world’s largest luxury-goods company by revenue and one of Europe’s most valuable public companies by market capitalization. Its portfolio spans wines and spirits, fashion and leather goods, perfumes and cosmetics, watches and jewelry, and selective retailing.
LVMH completed its acquisition of Tiffany & Co. in January 2021 for about $15.8 billion. Tiffany, founded in New York in 1837, joined brands such as Louis Vuitton, Dior, Bulgari, and Moët & Chandon within the LVMH group.
The name LVMH combines Louis Vuitton and Moët Hennessy. LVMH should not be confused with Kering, another major French luxury group that owns brands including Gucci and Saint Laurent. Market capitalization measures the value investors assign to LVMH’s listed shares, not the combined retail price of everything its brands sell.
