Which company made Kanye West’s Yeezy sneakers from 2013 to 2022?

The story behind the answer

Adidas made Kanye West’s Yeezy sneakers from 2013 to 2022.

West’s partnership with Adidas began after his earlier collaboration with Nike. The Adidas Yeezy line launched in 2015, with designs spanning performance-inspired shoes, knit sneakers and chunky foam models. The range became one of the most commercially visible celebrity footwear collaborations of the 2010s.

The partnership ended in October 2022 after Adidas terminated its relationship with West following his antisemitic remarks. Adidas then retained ownership of the Yeezy design rights and later sold remaining inventory in selected releases, donating portions of proceeds to organizations addressing hate and discrimination.

Nike was West’s earlier major sneaker partner, while Puma later worked with other prominent entertainers and athletes. Those companies are therefore plausible alternatives but did not make the Adidas Yeezy line covered by this question. The collaboration is often discussed as a turning point in the rise of celebrity-led sneaker businesses.
