Pirelli was the official tyre supplier of the World Rally Championship in 2024.
The FIA appointed Pirelli as the WRC’s exclusive tyre supplier for a four-year agreement covering 2021 through 2024. Its role covered the championship’s leading classes, including Rally1, the flagship category introduced under the WRC’s latest technical rules, and Rally2 competition. Pirelli supplied gravel and asphalt tyres in compounds selected for changing rally conditions.
Rally tyres face very different demands from ordinary road tyres. Gravel events require construction that can withstand stones and cuts, while asphalt rallies demand grip, braking stability and performance across wet and dry surfaces. Pirelli’s Scorpion KX family was used for Rally1 events in 2024.
A likely source of confusion is the change after the quiz’s stated year. Pirelli’s WRC single-supplier agreement ended after the 2024 campaign, and Hankook was selected as the official supplier from 2025. Thus Pirelli is the correct answer specifically for 2024, not necessarily for later seasons.
