Which company distributed the original 2002 film Ice Age?

20th Century Fox distributed the original 2002 film Ice Age.

Blue Sky Studios produced the animation, while 20th Century Fox handled theatrical distribution. This distinction matters because production and distribution are separate roles: Blue Sky created the film, and Fox brought it to cinemas and marketed it.

The relationship continued across the original Ice Age theatrical series. The films were released during the period when 20th Century Fox was Blue Sky Studios’ principal distribution partner.

The company name is sometimes mixed up with Disney because Disney later acquired 21st Century Fox’s entertainment assets in 2019. That later corporate transaction does not change the original film’s distributor credit, which belongs to 20th Century Fox.
