Which company did Peter Jones found as a specialist telecommunications business in 1998?

Peter Jones founded Phones International Group as a specialist telecommunications business in 1998.

Phones International Group was established by Peter Jones in 1998 and became one of the important businesses in his entrepreneurial career. The company operated in the mobile-communications sector, a field that was expanding rapidly as mobile phones became mainstream consumer products and businesses sought more specialist services.

Jones was already involved in technology and communications before becoming a television investor. His telecommunications background helps explain why pitches involving mobile products, technology and scalable consumer services have often fitted his interests on Dragons' Den.

Phones International Group is not the same as Carphone Warehouse, Vodafone or Dixons Carphone. Those are separate businesses in the mobile and electronics market. The exact company name associated with Jones's 1998 founding milestone is Phones International Group, sometimes shortened in business biographies to Phones International.
