Nick Jenkins founded Moonpig before becoming a dragon on the British television show Dragons' Den.
Moonpig began in 2000 as an online greeting-card business. Its personalised cards allowed customers to add photographs and messages, helping distinguish the company from traditional card shops.
Jenkins appeared as a Dragons' Den investor from 2015 to 2017. His technology background made him particularly associated with digital and internet businesses on the programme.
Moonpig is sometimes confused with other online gift retailers, but its original identity was as a personalised greeting-card service. The company later expanded into flowers, gifts and other occasions, and became publicly listed in London in 2021.
