Answer
Crafter’s Companion
Answer
Crafter’s Companion
Dragon’s Den investor Sara Davies founded Crafter’s Companion in 2005.
Davies started the business while she was studying at the University of York. Her first product was a craft envelope-making tool designed to help people make envelopes at home. She developed the idea after seeing a similar product used in the United States and recognizing that it could be adapted for the British crafting market.
Crafter’s Companion grew from a small student venture into an international craft-supplies company. Its range has included papercrafting tools, dies, stamps, machines and digital products. The company has sold through television shopping channels as well as its own retail and online operations.
Davies joined the BBC business series Dragon’s Den in 2019, becoming one of the programme’s most recognizable investors. Crafter’s Companion is sometimes confused with Davies’s later television and publishing work, but it is the company she founded and built before joining the panel.
