Dragons' Den investor Nick Jenkins founded Moonpig in 2000.
Moonpig began as an online greeting-card business, allowing customers to personalise cards before ordering them for delivery. The company became known for combining digital design tools with a physical card sent through the post.
Jenkins later appeared as an investor on the British television programme Dragons' Den. His background in online retail made Moonpig a particularly recognisable part of his business history, although the company was established before his television appearances.
Moonpig is sometimes confused with other personalised-gifting websites, but its original and best-known business was personalised greeting cards. The company subsequently expanded into flowers, gifts and other celebration products.
