Which comedian voices Mater in Pixar's Cars films?

Larry the Cable Guy voices Mater in Pixar's Cars films.

Mater is a rusty tow truck from Radiator Springs and becomes Lightning McQueen's closest friend. His character is cheerful, loyal, mechanically capable, and often responsible for comic misunderstandings. Larry the Cable Guy's recognizable Southern-style comic delivery helped define Mater's voice and personality.

The character's full name is Tow Mater, a pun on “tomater,” reflecting the film series' habit of giving vehicles names related to automotive language. Mater is not a racing champion, but he has unusual skills, including towing, improvising, and performing daring stunts.

Larry the Cable Guy also reprised the role in Cars 2, Cars 3, and several Cars short films and television projects. Mater's voice actor is sometimes confused with Owen Wilson, who voices Lightning McQueen, or Bonnie Hunt, who voices Sally Carrera.
