Chelsea won at Craven Cottage in the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend, beating Fulham 3–2 on Monday 24 August 2026. The victory completed the first match round of the season.
Craven Cottage is Fulham’s home stadium beside the River Thames, so Chelsea were the visiting side despite being another London club. The match was consequently a local derby as well as the opening round’s final fixture.
Chelsea’s success gave them three points from a five-goal contest. Fulham scored twice but still finished without a point, while Chelsea’s one-goal margin made the match much closer than Brighton’s 4–0 victory over Aston Villa.
The venue can cause confusion because several Premier League clubs play in London. Craven Cottage belongs to Fulham; Chelsea’s home ground is Stamford Bridge, and Brentford play at Brentford Community Stadium.
