Brentford faced Tottenham Hotspur in the final Saturday fixture of the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend.
The match was scheduled for Saturday 22 August 2026 at Brentford Community Stadium, with a 17:30 BST kick-off. It followed the three matches listed at 15:00 and the earlier lunchtime meeting between Hull City and Manchester United.
The fixture was selected for live Sky Sports coverage in the United Kingdom. Both clubs were London-based, although Brentford played in west London and Tottenham Hotspur played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in north London.
This game was the last Saturday match, but not the end of the opening Match Round. Sunday contained three fixtures, and Fulham versus Chelsea completed the round on Monday 24 August.
