Which city is the primary setting of Assassin's Creed Syndicate?

The story behind the answer

London is the primary setting of Assassin's Creed Syndicate.

The game is set in London during the Industrial Revolution, chiefly in 1868. Twin protagonists Jacob and Evie Frye arrive from Crawley and work to challenge Templar control over the city. Their campaign combines assassination missions with gang warfare, railway travel, and efforts to liberate London's boroughs.

The map includes recognizable areas and landmarks such as Westminster, the City of London, the Thames, Buckingham Palace, and the Tower of London. The industrial setting distinguishes Syndicate from Unity, whose story is set in revolutionary Paris. Syndicate also introduces a grappling launcher and a rope launcher to support movement across streets and rooftops.

The game features historical figures including Queen Victoria, Charles Darwin, Charles Dickens, and Alexander Graham Bell. London is sometimes confused with the locations of earlier British-related Assassin's Creed stories, but Syndicate is the main series entry specifically centered on Victorian London. Ubisoft released it in 2015.
