Baghdad is the main setting of Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

Released in 2023, Mirage follows Basim Ibn Ishaq before he becomes a prominent figure in the wider Assassin’s Creed story. The game is set in ninth-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age, with the city serving as the main environment for investigation, parkour, stealth, and assassination missions.

Basim begins as a street thief in Anbar and eventually joins the Hidden Ones. The narrative presents Baghdad’s districts, markets, scholars, officials, and political tensions through a fictionalized historical setting.

Mirage is sometimes confused with Assassin’s Creed Origins, which is primarily set in Ptolemaic Egypt and includes Alexandria, or with Assassin’s Creed Revelations, whose principal city is Constantinople. Baghdad’s central role makes Mirage distinct from those earlier Middle Eastern and North African settings.
