Which city is the headquarters of the Assassin Brotherhood in Assassin's Creed II?

The story behind the answer

Monteriggioni is the headquarters of the Assassin Brotherhood in Assassin's Creed II.

Ezio Auditore uses Villa Auditore in Monteriggioni as a base during the Italian Renaissance. The Tuscan hilltop settlement belongs to Ezio's uncle Mario, who is an Assassin and helps guide Ezio after the destruction of his family in Florence.

The villa serves both narrative and gameplay purposes. Ezio can improve the town's buildings and services, while the restored settlement produces income and provides access to equipment and training. Monteriggioni therefore becomes more than a mission location: it is a persistent home and management area.

Florence and Venice are major cities in the campaign, but they are not the Brotherhood's headquarters. Rome is central to Assassin's Creed Brotherhood rather than Assassin's Creed II. This distinction helps separate the Italian locations that appear across the Ezio trilogy.
