Which city hosts the twice-yearly Copenhagen Fashion Week?

The story behind the answer

Copenhagen hosts the twice-yearly Copenhagen Fashion Week.

The event takes place in Denmark’s capital and is one of the best-known fashion platforms in the Nordic region. It generally presents autumn/winter collections early in the year and spring/summer collections later in the year, following the broad international fashion calendar.

Copenhagen Fashion Week is especially associated with Scandinavian design, which often emphasizes clean lines, practicality and restrained styling. In recent years, the event has also become strongly identified with sustainability standards for participating brands, although those standards are requirements of the event rather than the definition of Scandinavian fashion itself.

The city is sometimes confused with Stockholm, which hosts Stockholm Fashion Week, and Oslo, which hosts Norwegian fashion events. Copenhagen’s fashion week is distinct because it is Denmark’s principal international runway and presentation platform, combining shows, presentations, trade activity and industry programming.
