China Fashion Week is hosted in Beijing, China.
The event is associated with the China Fashion Association and serves as an important showcase for Chinese fashion designers, brands and industry institutions. Beijing’s status as China’s capital gives the event strong links to national cultural organizations and the country’s fashion policy and education networks.
China Fashion Week is separate from Shanghai Fashion Week. Shanghai is a major commercial and creative centre with its own fashion-week platform, while China Fashion Week is identified with Beijing. The two events are therefore not interchangeable even though both promote Chinese designers.
The Beijing event has helped provide a formal stage for seasonal collections and designer presentations within China’s fashion system.
