Which character leads Hawkins High's Hellfire Club?

Eddie Munson leads Hawkins High’s Hellfire Club. The club is a Dungeons & Dragons group, and Eddie serves as its eccentric senior Dungeon Master during season 4.

The Hellfire Club meets at Hawkins High and includes Mike Wheeler, Dustin Henderson, and Lucas Sinclair. When Lucas has to choose between the club’s campaign and a basketball championship, the overlapping events show how seriously the members take Eddie’s elaborate game.

Eddie’s leadership also shapes the season’s central misunderstanding. After Chrissy Cunningham dies in Eddie’s trailer, Hawkins’ frightened residents and Jason Carver’s basketball teammates blame Eddie and associate the Hellfire Club with satanic activity. In reality, Eddie is being framed by circumstances surrounding Vecna’s murders.

Eddie’s role is larger than simply running a game. His campaign gives the teenagers a vocabulary for understanding the supernatural threat, while his outsider status makes him an easy target for the town’s panic. Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Erica continue the campaign under his guidance, and Eddie ultimately helps defend Hawkins from the Upside Down.
