Queen Latifah voices Ellie in Ice Age: The Meltdown. Ellie is a mammoth who was raised by possums and believes she is one of them until she learns more about her identity.
Ellie joins Manny, Sid, and Diego during the journey away from their flooding valley. Her relationship with Manny becomes an important part of the film, and she later becomes Manny’s mate and the mother of their daughter, Peaches.
The character is sometimes confused with Shira, the saber-toothed cat voiced by Jennifer Lopez in Ice Age: Continental Drift. Queen Latifah returned as Ellie in later Ice Age films, while the character’s possum brothers Crash and Eddie are voiced by Seann William Scott and Josh Peck.
