Jennifer Lopez voices Shira in Ice Age: Continental Drift. Shira is a saber-toothed cat who begins the film as a member of Captain Gutt’s pirate crew.
Shira initially works against Manny and his friends, but her relationship with Diego changes her loyalties. She eventually leaves Gutt’s crew and becomes Diego’s romantic partner, expanding the series’ central group of characters.
Shira should not be confused with Ellie, Manny’s mammoth partner, or Peaches, Manny and Ellie’s daughter. Lopez’s casting was part of the fourth film’s expanded voice ensemble, which also included Peter Dinklage as Captain Gutt and Nicki Minaj as Steffie.
