Which character is the protagonist of Assassin's Creed Rogue?

Shay Patrick Cormac is the protagonist of Assassin's Creed Rogue.

Shay begins the game as an Assassin working with Achilles Davenport's colonial Brotherhood. After a disastrous mission and a loss of faith in the Brotherhood's methods, he defects to the Templars. The game therefore places a former Assassin at the center of a story told largely from the Templar perspective.

Rogue is set mainly in the North Atlantic, the Appalachian River Valley, and New York during the Seven Years' War. Its gameplay builds on the naval systems introduced by Black Flag, but Shay's ship, the Morrigan, is smaller and designed for colder waters.

The game also connects directly with other entries. Shay encounters figures from Assassin's Creed III and Black Flag, and his actions help establish the circumstances surrounding the opening of Assassin's Creed Unity.
