Ian Malcolm is the main human protagonist of The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
Jeff Goldblum reprises his role as mathematician and chaos theorist Ian Malcolm in the 1997 sequel. After surviving the first film, Malcolm is recruited to investigate Isla Sorna, the island where InGen bred dinosaurs before transporting them to Isla Nublar.
Malcolm joins a scientific expedition led by Sarah Harding, a behavioral paleontologist who is also his former partner. The mission becomes a struggle for survival when InGen sends a separate team to capture dinosaurs for a planned attraction in San Diego.
Alan Grant is the central human character in Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III, while Owen Grady leads the Jurassic World trilogy. Henry Wu is a geneticist who appears across several franchise installments, but he is not the protagonist of The Lost World.
