Elrond is the father of Arwen in J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings.
Elrond is a Half-elven lord and the master of Rivendell. He is the son of Eärendil and Elwing, and he chose the fate of the Elves rather than that of Men. His long life gives him knowledge of the First and Second Ages as well as the events surrounding the Ring.
Arwen is Elrond’s daughter and plays a major role in the story through her relationship with Aragorn. Elrond’s wife is Celebrían, daughter of Celeborn and Galadriel. This family relationship is sometimes confused with the political leadership of other Elves, such as Thranduil, who is the father of Legolas rather than Arwen.
